NANA

Hello!

A fun layout to share with you today!  The story behind this, was that Sharlene and Denise (it was more Sharlene really) were begging me to play the CSI Case File #74.  I was not that "keen" all simply because of the colours, evidence and the testimony requirements.  Of course, I had both girlfriends in my mind {smiling.... picturing them looking at me asking me, "Have you started this project...?"} (I am giggling while I am typing this now)  I DO LOVE the blue colour in the picture!!! But it was not part of the scheme (I was disappointed!!)

Because of the colours, I just do not THINK I have them!!!!  Friday night, I decided to go through my box of "some coordinated papers" that I organized and keep....  Most of them are WAITING for the right pictures or right theme to go with them.  (Some papers/kits I have to admit I don't know why I bought them...also are sitting in this box... guess my "taste" changed over time)

I FOUND Nikki Sivils "Beatrice" coordinating papers.  The colours seemed to be PERFECT but the theme was WAY OFF!!!!   Again I have Sharlene and Denise in my mind, I decided to be more "patience" (giggling)  I studied the papers and tried to figure, especially looking at the both sides of the pages.  I felt that the papers were DOABLE avoiding the "BEAVER" theme......  This paper set was one of the papers that I do not know why I bought but I think it was the cute beaver that convinced me (??)
VOILA, here is my layout!  Really I made two layouts! But in here I will just share one layout and I will share the other layout in a different post sometimes this week.

This is Shelby's sketch that I used.

For Little Red Wagon, the challenge was to use metal, I added cute bright pink and green "ribbon-ed" paper clips (aren't they pretty?) and one pink paper clip on.  They all worked well on this layout.

For CSI Case File #74, I used all of the colours (as required) for the SCHEME.  For the EVIDENCE, I had flowers, ruffle, metal, leaves, and tulle.  For the TESTIMONY, add ruffle or lace to the journal spot.  At the above picture, you can see that there is a ruffle.  I made a ruffle using some washi tape.  COOL!!!!

OH OH! DID YOU SEE THE BLUE ON THIS LAYOUT!!!!  Charada's shirt and part of mom's blanket  YAY! YAY!  It happened on its own!  I did not add it on!

GIVE THANKS

Hello!

Another double page layout done!  I bought this kit (it was part of October Sketchy Trio kit) from Two Scrapbook Friends long time ago and I can say that I was thrilled to be able to complete this project.  I love kits as they are QUICK!

I used this kit for two challenges at the Two Scrapbook Friends.  The left page was for Jayne's Crafty Challenge Opposite Attract and the right page was for Amanda's Crafty Challenge: Tell Your Story (journal).

YOUNG AT HEART

Hello!

I can say that I am THRILLED about this double page layout.... WHY??  Because I have had this double page layout kit from the Two Scrapbook Friends for ages and ages!  I bought it long time ago but just did not have the RIGHT pictures for it UNTIL we went to the LEGOLAND last March!  When I saw this ride there and I knew the PERFECT papers for the pictures!!!!!  I was THRILLED I am telling you!!!  The theme, embellies, and papers worked WELL with the pictures!!!!  I made a small adjustment from the kit suggestion.  It had its own tree but I changed to palm tree since this event was in FLORIDA.  Of course palm trees suit better!

I used this double page layout to play two challenges at the Two Scrapbook Friends for Christa's Crafty Challenge: Sand It and Ann's Crafty Challenge Peek A Boo.  I used Tim Holtz Core'dinations cardstock for the very first time (I bought a 12x12 paper pad last year but never used it) for the palm part and lightly sanded them.  I reused the clear cover for the embossing folder package and used it to cover the most right picture on the right page holding some confetti in it.  I wish I had small car punch but I do not so I used regular tiny round punch.

A GOOD SWIMMER

 Hello!

A summery layout I created recently for two different challenges and it was fun.  It was about Braden's swimming team meet tournament at a Provincial School last April.  He did very well at this meet.  There will be another layout about his achievement.  You can see that I used Jayne's sketch#16 to create this layout.  I also used the challenge, case file #73 from CSI as the colours were just perfect for this theme I wanted to scrap about.  The colour scheme, I used all colours.  For the evidence, I included circles, flags, clock, plaid, and tone to tone pattern.  For the testimony,  it was about an outing, a round label with a caption across and IW (inspiration words) free and go!

Challenges I played:
Two Scrapbook Friends forum: Jayne's Sketch Challenge #16
CSI Color Stories Inspiration Case File #73

Supplies Used

PATTERNED PAPERS: CSI Coordinates case file #73 (plaid paper, tone on tone, patterned, spots, word arts)
CARDSTOCKS:  AC Cardstock
PUNCH:  Marvy Uchida round punch
DIE CUTS: George and Basic Shapes
FONTS:  American Crafts Thickers "Iguana"
OTHERS:  Sew Easy Piercer Mat, Sew Easy, Iris embroidery thread, wooden toothpicks

**********************************************************************************

Here is my project, FIRST COMMUNION Double Page Layout.  I used Scrapbook Generation May 2013 Free Sketch.  This sketch can be found here. The sketch was really easy to follow.  I truly enjoyed doing this sketch.

A close up of my left page.  I pretty much followed the sketch except for the picture 6x4 instead of 4x6 because of the group picture.  The small three pictures varied in the sizes as well.  They were mini prints.

A close up of my right page.  The journal section was good as I am not a "journal" lover but I knew that this occasion was important to be documented.  I was able to type up a simple journal and finished it with a beautiful cross brad.

I had this wooden cross in my stash for a long time and this occasion was a good opportunity for me to use.  There was a diecut hole in the middle of the cross.  I decided to cover the hole with the patterned paper to pop up the emphasis of the cross.

I decided to emboss (small dots) the title words for an interesting effect and to continue the round theme.  The patterned paper had many circles on them.  So were the cupcakes!  They all were round!

A close up of the journal.....

Next on the hop is Corrina,  before you do that, be sure to leave a comment if you want a chance to win :)
